Overview
The
OECD-STA Multilateral Tax Centre (the “MTC”) was officially inaugurated in the
National Tax Institute, STA on March 14th, 2016. As the 6th OECD Multilateral Centre in the world and the 1st in a non-OECD
country, the MTC is designed to provide training programs for tax officials
from developing countries, enhance mutual understanding and trust among tax
authorities of different countries, and promote consensus on international
taxation rules. The MTC also offers an avenue for tax disputes resolution and
gives support to Chinese corporations’ outward investment. In the context of
G20 tax reforms and changes in international taxation rules, China will
actively help developing countries with their capacity-building in taxation
areas, and work with other countries to build international taxation governance
framework and enable a sound environment for global economic cooperation.
