OECD MAP Seminar Delivered Virtually in China

Released on:2020-07-09

From 9th to 11th June, an OECD virtual seminar on Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP) has been organized in the context of the corona virus. This was an event coordinated by International Taxation Department of State Taxation Administration (STA) and supported by OECD-STA Multilateral Tax Centre in China (MTC China).

The event opened with introductory speeches by Deputy Director General Huang Suhua of STA. OECD expert Sandra Knaepen then provided a road map of the three day seminar introducing the topics at a general level. The topics included APAs, BEPS Action 14, and MAP statistics and process. These topics are highly relevant and important in a globalized world as competent authorities of tax administrations seek to solve disputes and relieve double taxation while safeguarding the integrity of the tax system.

Three experts from OECD have joined the event to provide lectures and discuss key issues in regard to mutual agreement procedures. In response to recognition of the important topics and experienced experts, near 300 medium to higher managers from tax authorities in China have participated in the virtual class to improve knowledge and sharpen skills.
